Monsoons have the power to draw your attention at one of it's shimmering beauty in the form of water falls. Nothing can beat when the rainbow and waterfall come together... all other things fade from the scene.
Irupu is exciting as it sings and falls down the cliff of huge rocks crazily.
Iruppu falls, also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in the Coorg district of South Karnataka cascading along the Brahmagiri Mountain Range.
Coorg boasts of many misty waterfalls, and Iruppu is just mesmerizing with its beauty and power that breaks into a thousand shards of spray.
The journey to Irupu was from Kabini dam at 9.30 a.m. This is how it went began..
Fields of marigold, and green paddy on the way are the highlights here.
Inspite of making the efforts to go for an early morning (5 am) safari, we missed the opportunity as the seats were reserved a day before. So, it's always advisable to plan and get prior info to avoid disappointment. We were directed to Nagarhole National park to get tickets for the Jungle safari by the Hotel Owner at Cool Land. The hotel is very clean and the food was very yummy, prepared in hygienic conditions. Since there was no proper information about the safari, the hotel owner asked us to wait at Dammanakatte forest office at 9. But, on reaching there, we were told that the tickets were available for 4 p.m safari. As we didn't have much time to wait, we headed to Irupu falls.
The visitors are charged INR 50 per head for Indians and Rs. 150 for Foreigners as entry fee. The Iruppu Falls is open from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM every day of the week.
En route to the magnificent falls stands the famous Shiva temple Rameshwara. The pristine cold water of the Iruppu falls is located on a lush, green mountain slope, a forest trail leading from these falls to the Brahmagiri Peak.
There is 500 meters uphill walk along the stream to reach the first fall of Iruppu. The path is slippery and covered with thick woods on both sides. It is a captivating experience for nature lovers as well as photographers, for the scenery offers many picture-perfect frames.
The second tier has a steep slope and dangerous. Better stay safe and enjoy the mystic drops on your face in the lap of nature. The sight of the green forest around and the Iruppu waterfalls in between creates a great view.
