Year 2019 ended with our culture trip to the land of Maharajas. This was the most awaited destination since long which was fulfilled on 21st Dec, 2019. We reached this beautiful city early morning, welcome by the regular autowalas and taxis. The drive to the hotel was quite long, as our hotel was a little away from the main city. The hotels were less crowded due to CAA issues in different parts of the country. Many bookings were cancelled at the last minute, but we didn't change our plans :). The hotel we move in was cosy and good.
Our day began with freshly fried kachoris, samosas and steamed dhokla from local street for breakfast. Having these from the local street is a different experience.
The spot we visited first was Lake Pichola. We went boating in picturesque and romantic lakes - Lake Pichola and Fateh Sagar Lake. The shimmering waters sparkled as the sun's rays fell over the crystal blue waters.
On its banks of this lake is Jag Mandir, the City Palace, the Lake Palace, the Mohan Mandir, and Arsi Vilas Island. You must definitely not miss viewing this by any chance.
Relaxing by the lakeside away from the cacophony of the city while enjoying some tasty snacks from the number of food stalls is a great feeling.
One of the attractions near the lake was getting dressed and looking like the locals; this was a lifetime memory of this romantic city.
The grand white City Palace is a heritage building, showcasing the best elements of Rajput Culture and arts.
Few kilometers is Vintage Car Museum is an awesome place for automobile and car lovers. Sahelion ki bari, Gulab baug, Jaisamand lake, Jagdish temple, Doodh talai, Eklingji temple, Bada Mahal, Maharanapratap smarak are some of the place worth seeing. The evening was spent with the folk and cultural dance. We once again got to taste the local cuisine of Udaipur and relished it.
There is more to come up!
